| Dear Secondary 5 Graduates ( 2008-2009 ), The 35th Speech Day on Saturday, 12th December, 2009 I would like to congratulate you all on your completion of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination and finishing your secondary schooling. I sincerely hope that the values and skills which you have acquired at HTYC will truly equip you for facing new challenges in life. Now, the very important event, the 35th Speech Day, will be held on 12th December 2009. It will be an important day to all of you because it is a Speech Day specially prepared for you. This year, we are delighted to have distinguished scholar, Prof. Stephen K.W. TSUI, School of Biomedical Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, to be the Guest-of-Honour, who will address the congregation and distribute certificates. The Rev. YUEN Hoi Sang of The Hong Kong Chinese Church of Christ will give the Benedication. Mrs Lucy LAU CHAN So May, School Supervisor, and other Incorporated Management Committee Members will also be here to witness your graduation and your growth. We would certainly love to have the presence of your parents on this precious occasion. Please do invite them to come to share your joy. Rehearsal for the ceremony will be held on Thursday, 10th Decmber 2009. All S.5 graduates who will take part in the graduation ceremony must make an effort to join the rehearsal and be punctual. If you do not join the rehearsal, we are sorry that you will not be allowed to go up to the stage during the graduation ceremony. Sadly, in the past, a few graduates did not attend the rehearsal and adversely affected the smooth running of the whole ceremony, which upset the congregation, and, in particular, the other graduates. Therefore, your cooperation is sincerely appreciated. Please remember that the success of this Speech Day depends on you. We do hope the occasion is one which you will cherish and remember for years to come. In the meantime, in order to help us effectively prepare for the ceremony, I would like you to fill in the appended Reply Slip and the questionnaire, and return to the School Office on or before noon, Monday, 30th November, 2009.
